Reuniting and it Feels So Good

FIT

This morning my Nike+ iPod totally cheated me out of 0.3 miles on my run.  I was feeling totally annoyed and defeated when I heard my stats at the end of the run.  It said I hadn’t even completed 3 miles.  I took my usual route and knew it was wrong, so I went to www.mapmyrun.com to double check.  My iPod told me I ran 2.92 miles in 28:59 which would put me at a 9:55/mile pace.  Map My Run told me I ran 3.2 miles in the same time.

Distance:  3.2 miles
Time:  29:58
Avg. Pace:  9:21/mile
Max HR:  180 bpm
Avg. HR:  168 bpm
Calories:  318 (25% fat)

During the first half mile or so, I was thinking about Angela’s post on the Galloway method.  I decided to try it out.  I walked every four minutes or so for about 30 – 45 seconds.  I liked it.  My max pace got pretty fast.  I think I would definitely try this out in a race!

Also, last night I tried out Kelly’s Tone Up Challenge moves.  I didn’t participate in the tone up challenge, but what a great idea!  I did the moves while watching tv.  It was a quick and easy workout.  Thanks for the moves, Kelly!

HEALTHYLast night’s dinner was at Mom’s.  We had grilled chicken, veggies and baked potatoes.  Hubbers has the pic on his Blackberry.

After dinner, I had some mango-tangerine sorbet.  It was delish!

This morning’s pre-run fuel was half a small banana with some peanut butter.

Post-run was a whole new kind of green monster.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the tropical green monster:

In the mix:

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • organic baby spinach
  • about 5-7 papaya chunks
  • 1 T ground flax
  • 1 small frozen banana

oh-mah-gah…this was the most delicious monster ever.  I probably will make them only as a treat since coconut water is so darn expensive, but boy was this a treat!

I didn’t have a snack since I was meeting some friends from high school for a reunion planning lunch.  I cannot believe it’s been over 10 years since I graduated high school.  One of the girls brought her yearbook along.  It was fun to catch up and reminisce.  I’m excited to be in on the planning.  It’s going to be fun!

I had pasta e fagioli soup with a slice of crusty bread.  When I came home, I sank my teeth into this peach:  P1020574

Delicious and juicy.  I’m off to get some school work done and finally watch Project Runway from last week!
